BVWS Updates

RetroTechUK - Sunday 12th May 2024

Our next event is RetroTechUK (formally the NVCF) at Sports Connexion near Coventry.

This is a public event so everyone is welcome.

Normal Entry: 10.30am to 4pm - £10 (under-14s FREE). Early Entry: from approx. 9.00am - £25.No advance ticketing, all tickets on the door. Cash only.

Full details are on the RetroTechUK website.

We're looking forwards to a great event again this year and are hoping to fit a few more stalls in to the hall, as one or two folk were disappointed that we couldn't accommodate them last year.

There is no event in the other hall this year, so the site should be a little quieter and the wait to get served at the refreshments trailer will be shorter.

Stallholder bookings are now sold out.

For dates of all our 2024 events please visit the Events Diary page.

British Vintage Wireless Society

The British Vintage Wireless Society (BVWS) is a society of over 1200 World-wide members sharing a common interest in the preservation and communication of technical and historical data, and the preservation and restoration of Vintage radio and related equipment.

We publish a quarterly Bulletin containing a wide range of restoration and historical articles, photographs of events, Society news etc. This is a high quality publication. Many earlier bulletins are available on this website.

We hold regular meetings around the UK. These meetings have stalls selling vintage radio and related items, and often also include a bring-and-buy stall, working displays of vintage equipment, historical presentations and an auction. Refreshments are available at reasonable prices. Take a look at the events diary page for current details.

The Society regularly produces supplements for members, consisting of technical, historic and documentary interest. Over the past several years we have produced (with Copyright permission) CD-ROMs of the Trader Service sheets 1 to 1899, all BVWS Bulletins no longer in print and all editions of 405 Alive magazine, several DVDs containing historic films, plus a number of other paper supplements and our own history book. These are all free to members.

Our Society relies on new membership, new Bulletin articles and new ideas to enable it to flourish and secure its future for generations to come. If you have an interest in collecting and restoring old equipment, or just looking at or listening to old radios, televisions or Hi-Fi, then why not consider becoming a BVWS member.

An application form can be found on the join the BVWS page. You could also contact the Membership Secretary who will be happy to answer any questions about the Society.
